Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you typically work with?

We work with clients at every stage of their life from early career to growing their family, thinking about retirement and enjoying financial independence. While our office is located in Kansas City, MO., we work with clients all across the country.

What do you charge for your services?

We are a fee-only firm, meaning our compensation comes entirely from you, our client. We do not receive commission or referral fees, and we are transparent with our fee schedule. Our interests and your interests are completely aligned. We only do better if you do better and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

What makes you qualified to be my financial advisor?

In addition to several designations and a commitment to ongoing education, our firm has been helping clients like you for over 25 years. Our advisors have a combined 120+ years of industry knowledge used to develop innovative solutions and strategies for your unique needs.

What does fiduciary mean?

Serving as a fiduciary means we are legally obligated to act in your best interest. We will not make suggestions based on personal gain, but rather only on what will be most effective in helping you achieve your financial goals. Unlike traditional investment advisors we receive no commissions for pushing certain investment vehicles. In fact, all equity and fixed income trading is now commission free on our TD Ameritrade trading platform.

What Services Do You Provide?

Sterneck Capital is “Quarterback” of our client’s financial life. We have deep experience and understanding of all the elements to organize your financial life, increase investment returns, lower risk and volatility, and allow you to pursue your goals and passions. Our services include investment management, financial planning, insurance analysis, estate planning, tax strategy, social security timing and more.

What's the difference between fee-only and fee-based?

Fee-only advisors only receive compensation from what their clients pay them, meaning the advisor’s success is entirely aligned with the client’s success. Fee-based advisors may charge clients for their services, but they are also able to receive a commission based on the sale of certain products, such as insurance policies. This means that they may not be able to offer truly unbiased advice with the clients’ best interest solely at heart.

I don't live in Kansas City. Can we meet virtually?

Yes! We can and do work with clients across the United States, connecting in person and though remote tele-conference meetings.
